When to begin orthodontic treatment depends greatly on the original tooth alignment or jaw position of the child.
The more they deviate from the ideal position, the earlier treatment should be started. This can be expedient even between the ages of 4 and 8.
If extremely early treatment is successful, there is rarely any need for follow-up treatment.
In less conspicuous cases of incorrect tooth alignment, children will usually see the orthodontist for the first time at the age of 9.
